Our team
Getting to know the team that will help support you in these difficult times.
Patricia Nielsen
I am Patricia Nielsen. I am a teacher, coach, family mediator and child consultant. My entire career has been geared to supporting children and families in Scotland and trying to ensure best outcomes for all. I feel privileged to be involved in Laura's charity Let's Talk Fab, as I know from personal experience how isolating it can be to suffer when a baby is lost. When my son and his wife had an ectopic pregnancy, he felt that there was no one he could speak to about his feelings as a man who had expected to become a daddy. In launching this charity, Laura is trying to ensure that no one - man or woman - needs to feel that they are alone at these difficult times. Laura has taken what has been a personal tragedy for her and used it to channel her energies into helping others who have been affected by fertility and birth issues. I can't wait to see how this charity will grow and evolve thanks to Laura's drive and commitment.
Colette Kilty
I am a Team leader who supports and provides comfort to my team daily. I also work with vulnerable customers. I love helping and supporting people. I have seen heartbreak and sadness in my family. My brother died of cot death at the young age of 6 months. This was a very sad and heart-breaking time for my family. Only recently my sister had a miscarriage. She felt there was no support out there and when she left hospital there was no phone call to make sure she was okay or even any follow up. I feel privileged that Laura has asked me to be part of the charity “Let’s talk Fab”. I feel like this charity will bring comfort and support to many in these difficult times.
Denyse Edmiston
My name is Denyse Edmiston. I have been a lecturer in Further Education for 23 years. During my career I completed a COSCA counselling skills qualification which I feel has benefitted me in my ability to support people through difficult situations. My personal experience of pregnancy loss motivated me to become involved in Laura's charity. I remember all too well the pain we felt at that time as a family.
I feel privileged to be part of the charity and to have seen first-hand the benefits even at this early stage it is bringing to people going through their own personal journeys. In my experience people who have 'walked the walk' understand and empathise with the journey.
Nick Dott
Hi, my name is Nick Dott, and I am a Chartered Accountant.
I met our founder Laura through acting as her accountant for her businesses and through this I have been fortunate to understand what a kind, caring and considerate human being she is. This is illustrated in the case that although personal tragedy struck Laura, her goal was to channel that pain to create this amazing charity to assist people with the pain of what she suffered, which is testament to the character and personality of the person I first met. When Laura mentioned her intentions to create the charity, I didn’t hesitate in offering in becoming a Trustee of the charity as I knew from dealing with Laura professionally, everything she puts her mind becomes a success through her drive, focus and passion and any small way I could help I would be honoured.
Although my main role will be dealing with the financial aspects of the charity, I have also suffered watching my wife have a miscarriage last year so I can also relate to the male mindset when trying to support your partner whilst at the same time come to terms with this tragedy yourself. All the things Laura mentioned to me previously about lack of after care and support became apparent and Let’s Talk Fab is here to help change that.
Sa Craig
I am Sa Craig and I have worked in the charity sector for over 10 years heading up fundraising departments for charities such as Alzheimer Scotland and Worldwide Cancer Research. I originally met Laura as a client, but we soon became friends and her strength throughout her own fertility experience inspired me to join the charity as a trustee. I am excited to help the charity to raise vital funds to ensure that people who are going through fertility issues or face a loss never have to do so alone and Let’s Talk Fab will be here to support them on their journey.
Lee-Ann
I’m Lee-Ann, just one of the trustees, who has the privilege to support Laura and the FAB mission. I’ve spent my professional life driving strategic change within large organisations such as Sky and eBay, where people and customers are at the forefront of everything they do, also with huge corporate social responsibilities and ethos to do good within the community. Bringing real world experience and personally shared values together I will set out our plan for 2023 and beyond.
Nikola
Nikola leads Be-IT, Scotland's leading technology resourcing, and service partner. As a mother of four, she has seen the heartbreak fertility challenges and the loss of a baby can impact to some of her closest family and friends.
Laura is on an incredible journey and I am delighted to support in anyway I can.
