About
Let’s Talk FAB (Fertility and Birth) is a charity founded by Laura Porter. When Laura suffered two miscarriages in a very short period of time, her grief was compounded by the fact that there was very little support given to her either during or after this loss and she left hospital feeling alone and bewildered.

Laura determined then that no one should have to feel as lonely and vulnerable as she had, and so she set about doing something to help ensure that others should never have to experience such isolation when dealing with heart-breaking circumstances.
"Time just seemed to pass so slowly. I would work every day putting on that brave face like I always do. Smiling and acting like I was ok."
Lack of support
What Laura quickly realised was that the wall of silence around fertility, miscarriage and stillbirths is deafening and that there is a woeful lack of compassionate information and support available.
You're not alone
Given that one in five pregnancies end in miscarriage, Laura knew that the pain she had undergone, while desperately sad for her, was not unique. She opened up to clients and friends and soon discovered that almost every woman she knows has had some experience of loss.
And of course, this also means that there are the same number of men out there who had imagined themselves becoming a father to a brand new little human being.

Laura has gathered a small number of trustees around her to move forward in providing much needed support to anyone experiencing difficulties around fertility and birth. There are so many plans for growing this charity that you need to keep checking back for developments!
Please read the stories, find out who we have already helped, and get in touch if there is anything we can assist you with.
And of course, if you can, please donate to this most worthwhile cause.
